CHEESE SAMPLER PLATE $5.00

These notes are little more abbreviated than usual for two reasons:
one, as most of you know, Pauline is more of a Zinfandel fan than I
am, and, two, we have had a computer failure in the shop so I’m
typing this late at night at home! Anyway, we thought we’d bring you
ZINS from lesser known producers who offer great value.

1. SOBON ESTATE 2006 OLD VINES, AMADOR COUNTY – this estate claims to
be the first to plant ZINFANDEL in AMADOR COUNTY - $13.25 (we also
have their entry level wine at $9.50)

2. CAMPUS OAKS wines have been successful at earlier tastings because
of their modest prices. This 2004 MAGNA CUM LAUDE RESERVE from LODI
is one of their “up-market” wines - $19.75

3. GNARLY HEAD is one of the biggest selling ZINFANDEL brands in the
USA, and their basic wine has sold well in the shop. They have now
produced a “Reserve Level” wine, and we offer the GNARLIER HEAD 2005
OLD VINE. This wine is from the DRY CåREEK VALLEY and is a serious
step-up from the basic wine - $19.50

4. MICHAEL POZZAN is better known for his “negociant-style” wines
such as ANNABELLA. However he does crush grapes and makes wines from
scratch – his 2006 BACK BARN, OAKVILLE CUVÉE ZINFANDEL is one such
wine. This is a 100% NAPA VALLEY single vineyard wine - $17.50

TRY THESE FOUR WINES FOR $10.00

For this week’s PREMIUM POUR we go back to AMADOR COUNTY:

We offer MONTEVINA 2005 SCHOOL HOUSE ROAD FIELD BLEND ZINFANDEL.
This wine is approximately 80% ZINFANDEL, 13% PETITE SIRAH, and 7%
BARBERA. The grapes were grown, harvested and fermented together -
$28.75

TRY THIS WINE FOR $3.50/Taste or $6.00/4 ounces

NB: All prices are subject to change without notice. The above
information is based on verbal information from distributors, and
actual wine prices will depend on the price invoiced at delivery to
Cornell Wine Company.
