CHÂTEAU LE PARADIS 2005
Matt Kramer wrote this up in last Sunday’s Oregonian:
“Chateau Le Paradis "Cotes de Bourg" 2005: The 2005 vintage in
Bordeaux has been acclaimed by the big barrel-tasting mandarins as
extraordinary. "I can't remember tasting such fabulously aromatic
young Bordeaux before," wrote James Suckling in Wine Spectator.
Robert M. Parker Jr., in The Wine Advocate, headlined his own glowing
tasting report with "Is 2005 the Perfect Vintage?"
You get the picture. The 2005 red Bordeaux that are now trickling
into the market are indeed lovely wines plumped with ripe yet
balanced (with good acidity) fruit and supple textures. The so-called
"petits chateaux" -- small, modestly priced estates -- collectively
issued some of their best wines ever, thanks to near-perfect weather
during the growing season and improved winemaking.
Chateau Le Paradis "Cotes de Bourg" 2005 is a tasty example of just
how good modestly priced 2005 red Bordeaux can be. Composed mostly of
merlot, this is a drink-now red Bordeaux of delicacy allied with real
flavor impact with more than mere hints of ripe strawberry and red
pie cherry delivered with a lovely, smooth-down-the-gullet suppleness.
This is a bargain Bordeaux from an acclaimed vintage.”
The distributor is now “sold-out”, but as I was already carrying it,
the distributor has made a few more cases available. Our price is as
follows:
$130.00/12 bottle case
$ 65.00/6 bottles
$ 13.00/bottle
Cheers,
