CORNELL WINE COMPANY
BRUNELLO BARGAIN
2002 was not a great vintage in the BRUNELLO di MONTALCINO area –
like all of Tuscany it was a cool and wet year. Several Brunello
producers declassified their Brunellos to Rosso status (try the
TENUTA FRIGGIALI 2002 ROSSO di MONTALCINO at $22.75, current stock
only). However some good BRUNELLOS were made, and the prices are
consumer friendly.
CIACCI PICCOLOMINI d’ARAGONA 2002 BRUNELLO di MONTALCINO
I tasted this wine this week, and it has all the elements you look
for in a Brunello. It is drinking well now, but will last for a few
years. However I’m buying some to drink now! I have not seen any
“expert” review of this wine. (The cheapest other vintage from this
producer is $45 wholesale).
$36.75/bottle Pre-paid case orders $360.00
Cheers,
